Call for Joint Research Projects

The Australia–International Collaborative Research Organisation (AICRO) is preparing to apply for a series of upcoming national and global research grants.

We invite universities, research organisations, industry, government, and international partners to collaborate with us in these applications.

Project - AI in Predicting and Managing Diabetes Complications

This project will develop AI algorithms to predict and manage the risk of major complications in Type 2 Diabetes (T2D), including chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular events, and diabetic foot complications. Using national registry data, electronic health records, and clinical trial datasets, machine learning models will identify early indicators of complication risk and generate personalised intervention timelines....Read More

Project - AI-Driven Genomics and Biomarker Discovery for Type 2 Diabetes

This project will use advanced AI to integrate genomic, metabolomic, and biomarker data for the discovery of novel risk signatures and therapeutic targets in Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). By leveraging large-scale Australian biobank datasets and global consortia resources, the project will pinpoint genetic variants and metabolic pathways associated with disease onset, progression, and treatment response....Read More

Project - AI for Early Detection and Precision Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes

This project will deliver a national AI-powered platform to detect Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) earlier and personalise prevention strategies for diverse populations. By integrating general practice records, pathology results, and wearable health data, the platform will generate detailed individual risk profiles and tailored intervention plans. Advanced AI algorithms will identify individuals at high risk up to three years before conventional diagnosis, allowing targeted lifestyle, pharmacological, and digital interventions. The system will be embedded into GP workflows and primary care networks, ensuring seamless adoption and impact at scale...Read More
